Cutters Open Up in a Scoring Barrage

May 7, 2007

BLOOMINGTON, IN – Saturday’s game featured a team desecrated from top to bottom.  The Cutters ’91 White team only fielded 13 players for the match because of injuries and other team related issues.  Furthermore, the Cutters didn’t even have their coach, Nick Hannah, because he was attending the graduation of his elder sister.  None of that mattered, however, as the Cutters defeated the Terre Haute Flyers by a score of 4-2 in Terre Haute.

Assistant coach Ryan Baca was given the responsibility of leading the boys into battle for the game, his first game as acting head coach in his career, and he certainly didn’t disappoint.  The Cutters came out fighting hard and possessed the ball very well.

“The boys looked really polished,” Baca said with a smile. “They moved the ball really well around the field which made the game very fun to watch.”

The Linton native L.J. S. added two more goals to his team high four goals on the season. Jacob D. notched the two other goals for the Cutters, his first of the season.

Everyone on the team seemed to be mentally prepared for the game and did whatever they could to help the team.

“I was especially pleased with Austin and Jacob's performance today,” Baca said after the game.  “Austin really stepped up both playing in the middle and the wing, and Jacob notched two of our goals.

“Solid play in the back by Alex, Will, and Ryan sealed the deal by minimizing open looks at our net.”

The Cutters finish the day with a 2-2-2 record on the season.
